Hello and welcome! My name is Lydia vonderLuft and I am a reformed Christian girl living in the beautiful state of Washington.
A little about me...
I praise God, drink tea, study, work as a doula, ride, play the piano, teach art lessons, laugh at myself, sew clothes, burn designs into wood, run, milk goats, shop thrift-stores, workout, eat salad, do the happy dance, hug my littlest sister, wash dishes, sing randomly, do cartwheels, bake bread, love mangos, and enjoy life. =)
I am currently studying to become certified as a Doula and am potentially interested in pursuing becoming a Certified Professional Midwife.
"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8)
I am a cyclist who loves to perform well (who doesn't?) on long rides. I'm also a bit of a health nut. That's why I support Hammer Nutrition--they provide energy food that tastes delicious, doesn't have any bad additives, and will give you the power you need to hammer through your next century! Early Thursday afternoon we spent exploring Pike’s Market. In general, it was a fun atmosphere to be in (although there were a few dark, smelly, Eastern shops…). If you have plenty of money it would even be a fun place to shop in… ;-) A couple of us bought lunch there but besides that the only thing we shelled out for was a bouquet of flowers.
This was by far the funnest element of the market…the famous fish throwing. These guys were fun, involved, friendly, and loud! And they threw fish around the room…I actually came about 5 inches away from being walloped with a quite large flying fish. It was awesome! ;-)
Here’s a short video that shows you a little…but you’d really have to be there to understand the atmosphere.
