Hello and welcome! My name is Lydia vonderLuft and I am a reformed Christian girl living in the beautiful state of Washington.
A little about me...
I praise God, drink tea, study, work as a doula, ride, play the piano, teach art lessons, laugh at myself, sew clothes, burn designs into wood, run, milk goats, shop thrift-stores, workout, eat salad, do the happy dance, hug my littlest sister, wash dishes, sing randomly, do cartwheels, bake bread, love mangos, and enjoy life. =)
I am currently studying to become certified as a Doula and am potentially interested in pursuing becoming a Certified Professional Midwife.
"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8)
I am a cyclist who loves to perform well (who doesn't?) on long rides. I'm also a bit of a health nut. That's why I support Hammer Nutrition--they provide energy food that tastes delicious, doesn't have any bad additives, and will give you the power you need to hammer through your next century! This is a sketch I did the other day with the intention of figuring out what colors to use to develop skin tones, which I find particularly challenging. I think I still have a lot of work to do in that direction. :-) Just looking at the picture I took, for example, I see I neglected those beautiful warm red-browns which probably accounts for the lack of depth in the sketch. Something to work on next time, I guess!
Below are the Prismacolors that I used in this sketch (from lights to darks):
